 PE Uniform

Our aim is simply to ensure PE kit is accessible to all, and to ensure that the focus can be on participation and comfort in PE lessons. We are mindful of keeping costs to a minimum. The only compulsory, branded item is the Polo Shirt, all other items may be plain to keep them as affordable as possible. To ensure student comfort, they are allowed and encouraged to wear a coat for outdoor PE lessons.

Please see below an outline of compulsory and optional items of PE kit

NB:  Please write / Sew in your child’s name to all PE items.   Unfortunately we regularly have students leave items in the changing rooms and it is very difficult to return items with no name

Compulsory PE Items

  • Blue and orange Okehampton Logo Polo Shirt
  • Blue/Black Bottoms - These can be leggings, shorts, jogging trousers, tracksuit trousers, skort.
  • Shinpads - These are required for Football and Hockey. We have a limited supply to support students in financial need. Please communicate this with your childs PE teacher so we can arrange for shinpads for that activity block.
  • Gumshield - This is required for Rugby and Hockey. They will need to be molded for the lesson. We have a small supply for those students in financial need – please contact us about this.
  • Trainers - These should be different to their school shoes for hygiene and to prevent school shoes getting wet.
  • Hairbands - if your hair is long enough to tie up, it needs to be worn up for safety. Students need to provide their own hairband.

Optional PE Items

  • Blue and Orange Okehampton Logo Zip up Top - Highly recommended to keep warm in outside PE Lessons
  • Blue and Gold Rugby Shirt
  • Long Blue Football Socks - Highly recommended to support shinpads

The rules surrounding jewellery and hair remain the same as these rules are part of national health and safety rules for PE. These state that long hair should be tied back for PE and that all jewellery will need to be removed for PE lessons.
