Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Okehampton College. I am very proud to be principal of an establishment which puts students and the community front and centre of everything that we do. Staff uphold our Trust values of ambition, cooperation and transformation in how they support and encourage our young people.

We want students to know that they can achieve anything that they wish to do so. This may be a university place, apprenticeship or their dream job. Ambition is about reaching for the stars and students pushing themselves in their 7 years with us.

The community that we serve is very important to us. We will work with parents, students and other stakeholders to build the school the area deserves. Our relationships with young people are ones based on trust, respect and love. Working together in this cooperative way will enable us all to understand one another.
With ambition and cooperation in place, we can then transform the lives of the young people in our care. We will help them become the best version of themselves through hard work and dedication from all parties.

Our team is dedicated to keeping a high standard of behaviour in our College. We do this by being clear in our expectations and how we operate around the school.  Safeguarding is a priority and we follow all safer recruitment processes and ensure our staff receive the latest training.  As a proud member of Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust we work collaboratively on innovating curriculum with Holsworthy Community College and Tavistock College.
