Applying to Post-16
At Okehampton College, we’re committed to helping every student find the right path for their future. To make the process smooth, personalised, and efficient, we use Edval Choice, a secure online platform that allows students to select their sixth form subjects with confidence.
Each student receives a unique webcode to log into the Edval system, where they’ll find a clear and user-friendly interface outlining all available courses and pathways. Whether you’re considering A Levels, Level 3 BTECs, or a blended route, the site provides all the information needed to make informed decisions.
Students will:
- Choose their preferred route of study
- Select three main subjects plus one reserve choice (for A Level and Level 3 BTEC pathways)
- Submit their choices securely online
Once all selections are made, we use Edval’s powerful scheduling tools to build the best-fit timetable model based on student preferences. This ensures the highest possible number of students get their first-choice subjects. But our support doesn’t stop there. After the initial process, we meet with each student individually to resolve any issues, such as subject clashes or low course numbers, ensuring every learner has a clear, achievable plan for success.
This process reflects our commitment to:
- Personalised guidance
- Efficient planning
- Maximising student satisfaction and outcomes
We believe that choosing your sixth form subjects should be an exciting step toward your future and we are excited to support you in making confident, informed
