Congratulations to all the Okehampton College Year 12 and Year 13 students for their excellent AS and A-Level results.
2017 has been a year of tremendous change in Post 16 Education due to the Governments’ programme of reform and so it was with some trepidation that we awaited the A-Level results taken under the new assessment model. In the event, our students have excelled and it has been a very successful year. 39% of grades at the College were awarded at grade A* or A; this compares very favourably with the national figure of 26.3%. 60% of grades were grade B or above, again, this compares very favourably with the national figure of 53%.
Well done to all the students for all their hard work and for achieving such well-deserved grades. Congratulations to all those Year 13’s who have secured the university place they hoped for. The College is very proud of all of you and whether you are the two students off to Oxford, or the two students taking on Medicine degrees, or any of those going to Cardiff, Bath, East Anglia and other corners of Great Britain, or someone choosing more vocational routes such as commercial pilot training or going onto apprenticeships or employment, we wish you the very best for the future and we look forward to hearing about your adventures when we see you next.
